SADLIBS is a detailed look into the equivalent exchange of being an artist and especially highlighting the effects of touring (both grand and... sad). The album leans heavily into the indie genre with live bass being a cornerstone of production for the first time. Performing with a punk band surely effected the musicianship of this album which is most easily described as indie rap. It incorporates vocal melodies along with the studious multisyllabic raps that were prevalent in Life in a Nutshell. The album is a leaping point that marks a defining sound for Lucid Optics you won't find in his previous work.
