Lucid Optics is living proof musicianship and hip hop can intertwine. It began with a laptop, a guitar and a synth, and superhuman dedication to developing songs. It continued as a daily escape from society's woes to the will to change whatever sad future Lucid would have lived through had he not found himself in music. In accepting this challenge, any human faces an endless list of seemingly unanswerable questions: How does the environment help shape us? How do humans effect the world and other creatures that walk this place? how are we supposed to play this game?


Maybe there is nothing we are supposed to do. No right way to play. Maybe we create our own purpose to keep ourselves from going batshit insane. Lucid's conclusions are often that no satisfying conclusion will ever be reached. One solved riddle leads to another unanswered. Behind this cryptic insight are jazzy keys and sinister bass lines, sweet 8-bit melodies that swirl through phased synths and funky leads.
